Pesky update

Boy howdy.....all a sudden Wayne come alive and want'n to come home. Apparently he has been trying to speak for some time, but with a water hose stuck down his throat, I'm think'n he was just blabber jaw'n.

His brother, George, has made it to New Mexico and has visited Wayne in the hospital in Las Cruces 70 mile east of Deming. He is supposed to spend the night here in Deming at Wayne's abode. But....Wayne may still not be coming home for quite some time. His brother wants to put him in an assisted living place in Las Cruces. Now....know'n Wayne, he ain't gonna have nuttin to do with  that. If he told the VA to kiss his ass when they wanted to put him in a nursing home, he'll tell his brother the same thing.

More news as I get information.

Ok, brother George just showed up. He had no more information than I posted. But.....boy howdy. He is headed back to SC. in the morning. Now that kind of pisses me off. He said Wayne is not in bad enough shape for him to stay. I say HUH??? to that.

  1. Well at last some news. glad some family is with him finally AND that he will talk to you. Ain't nuthing wrong with the new assisted living places at all. Beats passing out at home alone and laying there dieing alone in the cold.

Thanks for the update, I/we do appreciate it.

  2. Woo Hoo. Go Wayne! Here's hoping that the brother can find the middle ground between what he wants and what he needs.

  4. Ben, I would rather pass out and die at my own place. Hey BB, we just had to have a little faith. I feel so good now that I know Wayne is awake and wanting to go home. Are you going to help him escape?

  5. Dizzy, I've thought somewhat on what I would do when that time comes. I'm think'n a little piece of property back in the woods/desert/mountains somewhere in my motorhome camped along a little babbl'n brook or something like that. Then wake up in the morning driving a brand spank'n new 42 foots 450hp Prevost down a highway of clouds. Death only comes one time....make the best of it.

  6. I finally got a chance to catch up on your blog. I was so sorry to read what has been happening to old blue eyes.

I am optimistic now that he finally woke up.

I am sorry that his brother feels he doesn't have to stay "since he is not in that bad of a shape" :(

Sometimes a good friend is much better than having a family member that lives 1000 miles away.

Sending my best wishes for a speedy recovery for old blue eyes and a big cyber hug for you.

  7. I don't think I would ever want to live in an "assisted living" sort of place, having visited someone in one of them, and would rather die alone and at home. But sometimes we don't get to choose.

Thanks for the update - it's hard to imagine him just coming out of it, and I hope he recovers soon.

  8. they keep u comatose til ur lungs clear up, on that breathing machine. Did me. But when i was released, i was in pretty good shape, stayed home alone. Glad Wayne's not being forced into something he'd hate. He'll be fine.
Sooo good to hear the news today!!

  9. This is wonderful news about Wayne, BB! Now what he needs is his good friend BB to help him get settled someplace where he'll be happy and with friends. Seems like you had somewhere in mind awhile ago before all this happened - would that still work? I know it couldn't happen immediately since Wayne will need to regain his strength... The assisted living places aren't half bad anymore but man o man are they pricey!!!! $4k+ /month at most that I've found. Sorry his bro is such an a** but all too often that's the case;-( Were you able to scare off the rapacious neighbor who wanted to "help himself" to Wayne's stuff?

  10. A rapacious neighbor is a thieving neighbor.

  11. I've been having trouble with my account on Blogger...won't let me leave comments 99% of the time plus I can't even post to my own blog BUT I can still read and I'm VERY sorry to hear this about your buddy. He's darn lucky to have you for a friend, Billy Bob...so much for his brother :/ I got you both in my prayers.
